When Erika and Jared decided it was time to find their first home, they thought condo living was the right fit. Their budget was good for a modest-sized condo, and they had recently seen one that seemed to tick all the boxes. When they contacted Michelle to prepare an offer, they were a little surprised when she started asking questions about what they were truly hoping to get out of their new home. Michelle thought there was a better solution for Erika and Jared. After they agreed to say no to the condo, Michelle sat down with the couple and presented several housing options. In the end, the Michelle Walker Team showed the could afford a freehold house in a fantastic neighbourhood, which was a better fit for them.
“We were excited when Michelle and her team showed us we could do better than what we originally thought possible,” said Jared. “We now live in an amazing home that is a much better long-term investment for us.”
Next Michelle and the team set about to educate Erika and Jared using Michelle’s proven five-step process. Various neighbourhoods were studied, the walkability of the streets was considered, and even what school’s districts would be right if they decide to have kids in the future.
“Michelle was always up front and realistic about how long it would take to find the right home inside our budget,” said Erica. “She advised us that we would probably lose some bidding wars along the way, but if kept patient the right home would come along.”
Throughout the six-month process, the Michelle Walker Team stayed on top of every new listing and often got Erika and Jared into view homes long before other buyers. In the end, this strategy paid off. On a rainy Thursday night, Erika and Jared secured their first home at the right price and long before it went into a bidding war.
