After raising their family in Quebec, they moved to Kingston, Ontario, to live mid-way between their children. 20 years later both their children & their families lived in Toronto. After an emergency health issue, their children convinced Beverly and Earl to move to Toronto to be nearer to them for support. That’s when their daughter Bonnie put them in touch with us!
First, we wanted them to explore neighbourhoods to determine which area(s) offered them the convenience, community feel and value they were seeking. Once we narrowed it down to a few locations, we needed to find the right space; a condo that offered a low maintenance lifestyle, yet a large enough space to host family gatherings.
It was a team effort to find the right property. Lisa worked closely with Bonnie (their daughter) who was here on the ground in Toronto, and often first previews were done “virtually” with Beverly and Earl, as they couldn’t always drive in from Kingston.
They kept an open mind to units in need of renovation if all of their other must-haves were met. We ultimately found the perfect condo with plenty of square footage, lots of natural light and in close proximity to family. The suite was large enough to host family get-togethers and the complex even had a pool, which their grandchildren love!
They were able to look past the older finishes and create a vision with their contractor to make it their own. We worked with the property manager and condo board to obtain renovation approvals before they took ownership so they could hit the ground running when they received the keys on closing day. Not only did they update the whole unit and create extra storage, they got the kitchen of their dreams, and are now very happy to call Toronto their home.
